Staff Interop Validation Engineer (AI Data Center Interconnect)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States

Expected base pay: $111,070–$166,400 per annum. Additional compensation may include bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Evaluate DSP hardware and software features and create implementation plans for qualification and testing.
• Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to define and develop test plans for optical modules and DSP chips.
• Automate optical test plans and qualify optical modules from multiple vendors across different switch platforms.
• Build engineering dashboards and status reports covering qualification progress, interop lab readiness, and performance metrics.
• Adapt and benchmark open-weight language models to review lab data, specifications, test records, measurements, and failures.
• Build end-to-end automation that gathers specifications and test records, reviews lab logs, and runs Python scripts and statistical checks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 3–5 years of related professional experience, or a Master’s degree and/or PhD in one of these fields with 2–3 years of experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with transceivers and IEEE standards.
• At least 2 years of experience developing test scripts for validation and characterization.
• At least 1 year of experience working with networking protocols and technologies.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled technology and software under applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations may be required. Applicants other than U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals may be subject to an export license review.
