Senior Counsel - Privacy, Cybersecurity and AI - Hybrid (AI)

Location: Hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office in Denver, Cedar Rapids, or Philadelphia, United States. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Salary: $165,000–$195,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Independently handle complex privacy, cybersecurity, and AI legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Advise stakeholders on privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance requirements, risks, and practical implementation strategies.
• Support global AI governance initiatives by reviewing AI use cases and implementing AI governance frameworks.
• Manage privacy operations including PIAs, DPIAs, DSARs, RoPAs, and third-party privacy risk management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data processing and data transfer agreements.
• Design scalable compliance frameworks, deliver regulatory training, drive cross-functional projects, coordinate outside counsel, and respond to regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent legal experience and a U.S. license to practice law.
• At least 5 years of global privacy legal experience, preferably at a large law firm or in-house within a global financial services company.
• At least 2 years of AI governance experience, including advising on AI regulations and supporting implementation of AI governance programs.
• Deep expertise in global privacy, cybersecurity, and AI regulatory frameworks, including CCPA, GLB, HIPAA, NAIC AI Model Bulletin, NYDFS, Colorado AI Act, GDPR, PIPEDA, and LOPD.
• Strong technical fluency and the ability to engage with technical concepts related to AI, data, and cybersecurity.
• Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to provide clear legal advice and concrete implementation strategies to diverse audiences.
• Experience driving change through influence rather than direct authority.
• Intellectual curiosity, an action-oriented approach, and willingness to fail fast, learn, and iterate.

Nice to have

• 7 years of global privacy legal experience, preferably at a large law firm or in-house within the financial services industry.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or comparable privacy certification.
