Senior Field Manager (Energy Efficiency)

Location: Remote - Mississippi; ideally based in Mississippi or open to relocating there, with travel throughout the state as needed.

Target compensation: $100,000–$120,000 annually. Compensation range: $97,600–$146,400 annually.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Field Supervisors, Account Managers, Building Scientists, and other field-based team members across Mississippi.
• Manage HOMES and HEEHR program field operations, budgets, resources, productivity, profitability, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for HVAC systems, building science, residential energy efficiency, and energy-efficiency best practices.
• Develop and deliver training for field staff and HVAC contractors, and support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
• Analyze market trends, program data, and operational metrics to identify growth opportunities and improve energy savings.
• Collaborate with MDA’s State Program Administrator, utility clients, contractors, internal stakeholders, senior leadership, customers, and external partners to deliver programs and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in HVAC, building science, energy efficiency, utility programs, construction management, field operations, or a related technical industry.
• Technical certifications, industry training, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading field-based teams, including coaching, employee development, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, residential energy-efficiency measures, and building performance principles.
• Experience working with contractors, trade allies, utility clients, or energy-efficiency program stakeholders.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, operational metrics, and program performance goals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering presentations and technical training.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Ability to reside in Mississippi or willingness to relocate to Mississippi, with the ability to travel throughout the state as needed.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship or immigration-status support; successful hires must pass pre-employment checks.
• If applicable, compliance with DOT qualification requirements and federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Energy Management, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
• Experience in utility energy efficiency, demand-side management (DSM), or related energy programs.
