Mgr, Solutions Engineering (Defense)

Location: Hybrid role requiring residence in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) area for on-site collaboration with local defense headquarters.

Target compensation: USD 287,300–338,000 OTE, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Lead a pre-sales Solutions Engineering team supporting joint-force programs, tactical edge deployments, and mission command platforms.
• Guide the design of secure, high-performance data architectures for defense programs and battle lab environments.
• Mentor and upskill senior engineering experts in AI, modern virtualization, and cyber resiliency.
• Champion hirify.global adoption during defense battle labs and prototyping to secure designed-in status early in the capture lifecycle.
• Guide secure positioning within DoD Impact Levels IL4, IL5, and IL6 and navigate complex DoD security boundaries.
• Maintain rigorous Salesforce hygiene by tracking pre-sales milestones, proof-of-concepts, and architectural wins.

Requirements

• Must reside in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV) area.
• Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility is strictly required.
• At least 5 years of direct experience managing Solutions Engineering or pre-sales teams is strictly required.
• At least 8 years of technical sales or engineering experience within the DoD/Federal sector.
• Proven experience inspiring, coaching, and developing senior pre-sales engineers into a high-performing unit.
• Deep familiarity with Department of War structure, tactical military commands (COCOMs), and the defense acquisition landscape.
• Familiarity with tactical-edge data storage, hybrid multicloud, and secure data services.
• Ability to differentiate hirify.global against legacy storage and cloud competitors.
• Ability to translate complex technical architectures into mission-focused outcomes for senior military leadership and defense integrators.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent practical defense or industry experience.
