Design Engineer 2 - Electronic Security

Location: Remote/Virtual; US-based only for the ability to obtain a government-issued Top Secret Clearance. Occasional construction-site work may be required, including compliance with site safety regulations and use of PPE.

What you will do

• Support electronic security system design projects from sales concept and design development through construction documentation, construction administration, and commissioning.
• Develop system concepts, requirements, specifications, designs, budgets, timelines, estimates, proposals, bills of materials, and supporting documentation.
• Create detailed 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC drawings and provide technical coordination for architecture, installation, and planning.
• Research and recommend technology options while coordinating with clients, Design Engineering, Sales Leadership, and support teams.
• Contribute to client relationships, account support, project profitability, presales, program efforts, and complex project resource planning.
• Provide direction to junior personnel, guide issue resolution, and maintain industry expertise through training, trade publications, seminars, and educational forums.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree and/or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in technical systems design required.
• Ability to obtain a government-issued Top Secret Clearance; US-based candidates only.
• Clear understanding of project phases: Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction, and Commissioning.
• Demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation and integration, and architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office 365.

• Certifications or training with Milestone and Lenel.
• Certifications or training with Genetec, Avigilon, and S2.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Other relevant certifications based on the technology focus of the position.
