Security Consultant (Physical Security)

Location: Based in Dallas, TX, United States; hybrid work between the office, client sites, and remote work. Fully remote options may be available based on experience. Occasional regional travel is required, up to 10%.

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Plan, design, document, and deliver physical security systems for new construction and renovation projects.
• Meet with clients and stakeholders to define operational requirements and security objectives, then develop scalable solutions.
• Prepare security designs, narratives, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, master plans, risk assessments, and technology evaluations.
• Coordinate security requirements with architects, engineers, technology consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Conduct facility assessments and site surveys; review contractor submittals and shop drawings; support site observations, punch lists, and issue resolution.
• Support senior consultants and project managers across concurrent projects while maintaining quality, schedules, and client communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 4–6 years of experience in physical security consulting, security system design, engineering, or a related field within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry.
• Experience designing or supporting implementation of access control, video surveillance/CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom and communication, and emergency notification systems.
• Understanding of security industry standards, best practices, and relevant codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail, a professional demeanor, and the ability to interact directly with clients and project stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Nice to have

• ASIS Physical Security Professional or Certified Protection Professional certification.
• Familiarity with security risk assessments and security master planning.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals for IP-based security systems.
• Experience with cloud-based security platforms and integrated security ecosystems.
• Interest in emerging security technologies and ongoing professional development.
