Mechanical Engineering Lead, NA (Data Centers)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States; travel required up to 15–25%, with the possibility of increasing over time.

Salary: $175,000–$190,000 annually; compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Drive organization-wide mechanical engineering decisions, technical standards, best practices, and transformative innovation.
• Provide strategic technical leadership to SMEs and project teams without direct supervisory responsibility, including mentoring and developing future leaders.
• Guide engineering projects and initiatives across performance, budgets, schedules, stakeholder coordination, and multidisciplinary design.
• Represent mechanical engineering in customer discussions, presentations, Centers of Excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support operational facilities, forensic failure analysis, and emergency events requiring SME support.
• Develop team learning and onboarding content and maintain transparent two-way communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15+ years of experience in mechanical design and construction.
• Experience in data centers and/or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading technical design teams and cross-discipline knowledge covering electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, and other critical data center trades.
• Strong understanding of design, construction, commissioning, and operations processes for North American development projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks, and CFD modeling software environments.
• Knowledge of building codes and ordinances, including ASHRAE; strong attention to detail, accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and focus on continuous improvement.
