Legal Counsel (Compliance & ESG)

What you will do

• Conduct legal research, identify applicable legislation, define compliance requirements, and support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance efforts meet global, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR&ESG, Platform, Product, Marketing, and other teams to align project implementation with business needs.
• Provide legal advice on international matters, assess and manage risks across multiple jurisdictions, and support partnership negotiations.
• Lead compliance-related projects and support the creation, review, and management of legally supported internal processes.
• Oversee compliance-related document management systems and processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of legal experience, ideally combining in-house and law firm roles.
• A university degree in law (Mag. iur.).
• Solid understanding of civil law.
• Efficient communication and negotiation skills, fluency in written and spoken English, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, work independently, and contribute effectively to a collaborative team.
• Interest in or experience with legal technology tools.
• Curiosity about the print-on-demand and e-commerce industries.

Nice to have

• Experience with the U.S. market or an international business environment, especially in a compliance-related role.
• Previous compliance-related experience, including research, due diligence, or drafting and assessing compliance frameworks.
• Experience or familiarity with ESG legislation, especially PPWR/EPR, ESPR, and the EmpCo directive.
• An LL.M. from a U.S. university.
• Participation in moot court competitions, scholarships, or other academic distinctions.
