Lead Product Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Riverwoods, Illinois, United States; office attendance required 8 days per month, with possible onsite interviews at a hirify.global office.

Compensation: $128,100–$224,550 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and architect innovative software applications that address complex business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define detailed design specifications and technical requirements.
• Supervise and mentor information technology personnel.
• Document technical specifications and development requirements.
• Lead software performance optimization and develop comprehensive testing routines.
• Analyze complex project data, provide advanced technical support, identify technology resource needs, and implement real-time system monitoring.

Requirements

• Ability to design, develop, and maintain software systems and applications using computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles.
• Ability to design, write, test, implement, debug, and maintain software programs and systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience with software testing and quality evaluation.
• Ability to work with Agile methodologies and source code repositories.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, database design, and database management systems.
• Ability to design, develop, manage, document, secure, and test APIs.
• Ability to use frameworks, automation, technical documentation, and software design practices.
• Ability to lead AI development tool selection and adoption, validate AI-generated code, establish responsible AI usage guidelines, and design AI tool and agent workflows.
