AI Product Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City, UT; work-from-home options are available.

Salary: $129,000–$193,500 annually, varying by U.S. work location and job-related factors.

What you will do

• Discover and automate high-leverage internal workflows.
• Ship AI capabilities end-to-end with evaluation frameworks as a core practice.
• Partner with the VP of Engineering and Product team on data, identity, and architecture.
• Build reusable patterns that allow each AI capability to compound in value.
• Expand successful internal AI applications into physician- and employer-facing intelligence.
• Identify, build, evaluate, ship, learn, and iterate on AI product capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to design and ship systems end-to-end.
• Experience building and deploying real-world AI applications using LLMs, retrieval, embeddings, and agentic patterns.
• Experience building and running evaluation frameworks for AI products.
• Ability to identify high-leverage workflows through direct stakeholder interviews rather than only backlog tickets.
• Product mindset focused on user and business outcomes.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years shipping user-facing software with direct product ownership.
• At least 1 year of experience shipping AI-powered applications to production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping AI-native features into production with measurable outcomes.
• Experience building recommendation, ranking, or matching systems and the feedback loops that improve them.
• Experience designing systems that incorporate user behavior and feedback data.
• Experience in early-stage or high-ownership environments where the highest-value work is not always obvious.
