Senior Forward-Deployed Engineer — Applied AI

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid workplace with onsite customer work and regular in-person coworking in Berlin and Munich.

What you will do

• Discover operational workflows directly with logistics, operations, and customer teams.
• Turn customer workshops and ambiguous problems into working prototypes quickly.
• Build integrations, AI agents, data transformations, approval flows, and user-facing workflows.
• Connect email, documents, and customer systems through APIs, browser automation, or other robust approaches.
• Take prototypes through production hardening, rollout, measurement, and real-user adoption.
• Decide what should use AI, what should remain deterministic, and where human control is required; turn reusable learnings into core product capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent depth, with the ability to take ambiguous problems through production and real users.
• Experience building integrations with external systems and working with messy APIs, data, and requirements.
• Ability to understand operational workflows, uncover the actual problem, and challenge customer requirements constructively.
• Comfort working across backend and product/full-stack engineering.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agents and heavy use of coding agents.
• Ability to prototype quickly while maintaining production reliability, edge-case handling, and delivery discipline.
• Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical people and own outcomes end to end.
• Fluent German and English.
• Willingness to work onsite with customers when needed to understand the problem.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL is useful, but exact stack experience is not required.
