Head of AI Solutions (m/f/x)

Location: Mannheim, Germany; hybrid work with a requirement to be in the office three times per week.

What you will do

• Design AI solutions by translating business and product requirements into concrete concepts and defining how AI platform capabilities integrate with applications.
• Act as the technical interface between AI engineering and business application teams, coordinating the rollout of new AI capabilities.
• Evaluate AI architectures, models, tools, and integration approaches for feasibility, scalability, performance, and cost.
• Identify high-impact use cases for LLMs, RAG, AI agents, information extraction, and semantic search across the product portfolio.
• Analyze usage, quality, performance, and cost of existing AI capabilities while evaluating new technologies and market developments.

Requirements

• Strong background in AI, software engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting, ideally in an enterprise software or SaaS environment.
• Strong technical understanding of modern AI and LLM architectures, including RAG, AI agents, vector search, embeddings, model APIs, and evaluation.
• Experience translating business challenges into technical solution designs and engineering requirements while working closely with AI or software engineering teams.
• Good understanding of software architectures, APIs, data flows, and integrating AI capabilities into production software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to bridge technical and business audiences.
• Fluent English.
