Senior Consultant (Climate Policy)

Location: Brussels, Spain or London; the listed job location is Brussels, Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium.

What you will do

• Support the delivery of climate, environmental and sustainable finance projects for public and private clients.
• Support project management and lead the deployment of discrete tasks and activities.
• Conduct robust qualitative and quantitative analysis and translate complex data into meaningful recommendations.
• Engage stakeholders through quantitative and qualitative surveys, particularly across public authorities and the business and finance community.
• Support thought leadership in climate policy by identifying emerging trends and opportunities and translating them into new service offers.
• Collaborate with climate and environmental experts, economists, engineers, financial experts and communication specialists in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams across countries and time zones.

Requirements

• Fluency in spoken English and excellent English writing skills.
• Master’s degree in climate or environmental sciences, environmental economics, environmental engineering, political sciences or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in EU-level climate policy, with an excellent understanding of current developments such as the Net Zero Industry Act, Climate Law and EU ETS.
• Demonstrable experience delivering and managing public policy projects, ideally including policy and programme evaluations.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent tools.
• Proven communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience, especially with public authorities and the business and finance community.
• Ability to work independently and within multicultural, multidisciplinary consulting teams spread across several countries and time zones.
