Penetration Testing Project Manager

Location: US/LATAM — Remote; global hiring is available in regions where hirify.global can legally engage talent directly or via an EOR partner.

Salary: $50,000–$90,000 per year base salary, plus benefits and equity; compensation is adjusted according to geographic pay bands.

What you will do

• Lead client scoping calls and understand requirements, timelines, target environments, IP ranges, credentials, and rules of engagement.
• Own client relationships throughout the penetration-testing engagement lifecycle, including kickoff, status updates, and closeout discussions.
• Coordinate test execution, internal resources, schedules, access provisioning, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
• Answer questions about testing approaches, findings, and remediation guidance while translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Ensure deliverables are completed on time, support quality assurance processes, and address client concerns professionally.
• Assist pentesters on complex engagements, handle escalated technical issues when needed, and stay current on threats, vulnerabilities, and testing methodologies.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in penetration testing, security assessments, or a related cybersecurity role.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, command line interfaces, web application technologies, and common attack vectors.
• Ability to read and understand basic code.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Professional demeanor and excellent client interaction abilities.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Attention to detail, excellent time management, ability to meet deadlines, and ability to work independently.
