Principal D365 Business Central Developer

Location: Remote, UK

Salary: £85,000–£95,000 per annum

What you will do

• Act as the technical design authority for D365 Business Central solutions and help set the practice’s technical direction.
• Lead the design and delivery of complex Business Central extensions, customisations, integrations, and customer engagements.
• Define architecture across Business Central, APIs, web services, Dataverse, and Power Platform.
• Establish coding, testing, branching, release, source control, ALM, and CI/CD standards using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Lead technical design reviews, mentor developers, and support enterprise opportunities and pre-sales.
• Drive performance, observability, security, operational resilience, incident response, root cause analysis, and responsible AI adoption.

Requirements

• Deep, demonstrable AL and D365 Business Central development experience.
• Strong understanding of the Business Central extension model and underlying platform.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex Business Central solutions into production.
• Strong integration experience across APIs, web services, Dataverse, and Power Platform.
• Strong ALM experience, including source control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with Business Central SaaS; on-premises experience is also relevant.
• Good understanding of Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
• Experience mentoring developers and setting technical standards.
• Strong architecture, technical design, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• MB-820 certification, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Power BI, ISV or product-led development, and agentic or AI-assisted development experience.
