Microsoft Dynamics 365 Technical Consultant / Developer (AI)

Location: Remote; flexible living locations across the United States or Canada. Listed locations include Chicago and Toronto.

Base salary: $120,000–$145,000 USD annually; total estimated compensation including annual incentive: $138,000–$166,750 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management technical solutions, including X++ extensions, Chain of Command implementations, event handlers, batch processes, data entities, forms, reports, and workflows.
• Build and support integrations using OData, Data Management Framework, Business Events, custom services and APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and API Management.
• Develop data migration packages, mappings, transformation logic, reconciliation controls, reporting solutions, and operational documentation.
• Build Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse components, Copilot Studio solutions, and approved AI-enabled workflows with guardrails, human review, logging, and escalation paths.
• Manage source control, pull requests, build and release pipelines, deployment controls, testing, security validation, release readiness, cutover, hypercare, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Own technical work packages, prepare specifications and delivery documentation, collaborate with functional consultants and clients, conduct walkthroughs and demonstrations, and coach junior resources.

Requirements

• Flexible living location across the United States or Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Typically 7–9 years of enterprise application development or technical consulting experience, including substantial hands-on work with Dynamics AX 2012 and/or Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
• Experience contributing to at least two full-lifecycle ERP implementations, upgrades, rollouts, or major enhancement programs, with ownership of technical deliverables.
• Hands-on X++ development experience and working knowledge of Dynamics 365 extensibility, data entities, security, reporting, integrations, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience producing technical specifications, code, test evidence, deployment documentation, and knowledge-transfer materials in a structured delivery methodology.
• Ability to work independently with occasional assistance, lead a small technical work package, and coach junior resources.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and ability to collaborate with US and global teams across time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure integration services, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, or Copilot Studio.
• Exposure to finance, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, asset management, project operations, or related ERP processes.
• Experience with AX-to-Dynamics 365 modernization, One Version servicing, legacy customization remediation, or global and multi-entity deployments.
• Experience with automated testing, performance troubleshooting, application monitoring, secure integration patterns, or release automation.
