Senior Software Engineer (Python/AWS)

Location: Toronto; hybrid work with in-office collaboration four days per week in most locations

Base salary: $93,200–$136,696 annually; incentive target: 12.5% annually

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python-based data pipelines on AWS using S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, and ECS.
• Design scalable file delivery systems for CSV, Parquet, and JSON through S3, SFTP, and cloud data marketplaces including Snowflake Marketplace.
• Implement partitioning, compression, encryption, data-quality validation, monitoring, and alerting for reliable feed delivery.
• Migrate legacy feed products to cloud-native AWS architecture and contribute to DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Contribute to web interfaces for feed monitoring and configuration, and participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 5+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Python for data pipelines, ETL processes, and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, including compute, storage, and serverless services for cloud-native data pipelines.
• Experience with CSV, Parquet, and JSON data formats and designing reliable data delivery solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js, React, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industries with strict data-quality and SLA requirements.
