Senior Software Developer (AI)

Location: Quebec City, Quebec, Canada; hybrid work with two days per week in the local office and the remainder home-based

What you will do

• Design and architect complex software applications, platform services, web services, and APIs for geoscience data.
• Develop, test, document, maintain, and refactor secure programs, integration services, and data interfaces.
• Optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads with high data volumes and concurrent usage.
• Evaluate architectural alternatives through models, simulations, and prototypes, and align stakeholders on delivery decisions.
• Coordinate cross-team releases covering CI/CD, observability, quality, security, compliance, communications, and post-release improvements.
• Lead design and code reviews, define development standards, deliver small projects, and mentor software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 7+ years of experience in relevant software development roles.
• Experience building enterprise-scale data solutions for high data volumes and concurrent usage.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JSON, with experience using relational and NoSQL data storage.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, plus familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with Kafka or Event Hub and API integrations, along with the ability to work autonomously, influence stakeholders, and apply security, privacy, and ethical practices.
