Senior Engineer Manufacturing Engineering (Optics)

Location: Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia; onsite at the Sarawak Kuching Office.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, qualify, and continuously improve substrate manufacturing processes.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize chemical, mechanical, and optical process parameters to maintain stable, reliable, and high-quality output.
• Handle optical-based precision manufacturing tools and equipment, including laser systems, alignment systems, and measurement tools.
• Support substrate characterization, manufacturing capability development, process projects, and yield, throughput, and quality improvements.
• Develop process documentation, safety standards, and technician training materials.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Automation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience handling optical-based precision manufacturing tools and equipment, including laser systems, alignment systems, and measurement tools.
• Experience with glass or ceramic properties, handling, and quality parameters relevant to optical or substrate glass.
• Ability to perform systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures and process deviations.
• Ability to optimize manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and improve yield, throughput, and quality.
• Fresh Master’s graduates in relevant engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Nice to have

• Foundational AI/ML knowledge for predictive maintenance, defect detection, and process optimization using large datasets.
• Ability to track and manage multiple projects, commissioning activities, and improvement action plans.
