Field Application Engineer (Power Semiconductors)

Location: Virtual - Germany; travel approximately 50–60% across EMEA.

Salary: gross annual base salary of approximately €70,000–€85,000 plus bonuses.

What you will do

• Provide technical support throughout customer application development and product design-in from early concept through validation and production.
• Analyze customer requirements, understand system architectures and specifications, and recommend appropriate technical solutions with internal specialists.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support laboratory testing, validation, and investigation of application-related problems.
• Partner with Sales to identify technical opportunities and support design wins in strategic customer projects.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and product training for customers and distribution partners.
• Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Quality, and engineering teams to communicate customer needs and contribute to product and technology development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in Field Application Engineering, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Essential experience with power semiconductors and a solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems and active components.
• Ability to understand system architecture, technical specifications, and customer application requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to technical troubleshooting and validation.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to engineering and commercial audiences.
• Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to work closely with customers and Sales teams; candidates from design engineering must be comfortable in a customer-facing role.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50–60% across EMEA.
