Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office; available in Westford, Massachusetts, United States, or Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Salary: USD 108,500–205,500 annual base salary in Massachusetts, United States.

What you will do

• Design limited enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software and subsystems, including operating systems, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
• Analyze designs and determine the coding, programming, and integration activities required for assigned objectives.
• Write and execute portions of testing plans, protocols, and documentation; debug code and suggest improvements.
• Collaborate with software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
• Communicate software design status, project progress, and issue resolution with internal and external development partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience.
• Experience using software systems design tools and programming languages.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including test plan execution, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mastery of English and the local language.
• Ability to communicate design proposals effectively and negotiate options.
