Software Engineer II (Java, Spring, AWS, CI/CD)

What you will do

• Build and enhance the rules execution service for healthcare supply chain document events.
• Implement rule types, specifications, actions, and shared framework extensions using established design patterns.
• Support event-driven rules with EventBus, MongoDB-backed definitions, event matching, and caching.
• Develop rule actions for document handling and integrations, including feature-flagged releases.
• Contribute to Intelligent Business Rules capabilities, technical design, monolith decoupling, and Java version migrations.
• Write JUnit 5 and Mockito tests and collaborate with engineering and cross-functional partners in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• Work must be performed from the USA, either remotely or from an office.
• 2–3 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years with Java and J2EE technologies.
• Experience with Spring and Maven, databases, scalable software design, testing, and maintainable code.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture, event buses, publish/subscribe messaging, or rules engines.
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies and familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, independent execution, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, or Lambda.
• Experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Liquibase, feature flags, or configuration services.
• Interest in healthcare, supply chain, EDI, or B2B document exchange.
• Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies.
