Program Manager, Expert (Vegetation Management)

Location: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office or field. Assigned work location must be within PG&E’s service area in the North Coast, Sierra, or Central Coast region, including Ukiah, Auburn, or Santa Cruz, California, United States.

Salary: Estimated $130,000–$155,000, with a California salary range outside the Bay Area of $123,000–$197,000. Eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage implementation and execution of the Vegetation Management Forestry Operations program and support program metrics and objectives.
• Manage vendor relationships, provide direction, and coordinate strategic programs and partners.
• Contribute to budgets, forecasts, program measurement, reporting, policies, and procedures.
• Partner with Regulatory and Compliance teams by supplying information for filings and data requests and meeting with regulators.
• Review locations in the office or field for Forest Practice Rules compliance and Utility Exemption permit eligibility.
• Coordinate Licensed Timber Operator field operations, environmental agency liaison activities, permit closeout, site monitoring, and scopes of work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Natural Resources or a related field.
• Eight years of related experience or equivalent.
• Broad expertise and advanced knowledge applicable to wide-ranging program-related issues.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.
• Ability to map or establish and implement resource protection measures.

Nice to have

• Registered Professional Forester Certification.
• ISA Arborist Certification.
• Advanced knowledge of program management.
• Ability to influence leaders inside and outside the department through data analysis, insights, and recommendations.
• Ability to lead large and complex projects with cross-functional teams.
• Diplomacy and tact in addressing issues.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
