Assistant Director, Evergreen (Investment Valuation)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work arrangement with 18 remote workdays per quarter subject to manager approval.

Base salary: $125,000–$140,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and potential long-term reward programs.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end valuation activities for assigned direct investments across the Evergreen platform.
• Review third-party valuation analyses and assess assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions.
• Develop valuation models for new investments and enhance existing models based on performance, market conditions, and structural changes.
• Partner with deal teams and internal collaborators to evaluate financial data, transaction information, and performance updates.
• Support valuation governance and committee processes, including review and approval of valuation results.
• Coordinate valuation timelines, respond to audit inquiries, and improve valuation processes, controls, and reporting.

Requirements

• Strong experience in investment valuation and financial analysis, including experience evaluating sophisticated direct investments.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and enhancing financial and valuation models.
• Understanding of fair value principles, valuation methodologies, and related policies.
• Ability to analyze sophisticated financial information, identify valuation risks or inconsistencies, challenge assumptions, and resolve discrepancies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communication with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Experience partnering with investment teams, finance, accounting, auditors, and third-party valuation providers.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to provide guidance and oversight to junior team members.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in valuation, investment analysis, financial analysis, or a related capacity.
• Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent experience.
