Director, Strategic Finance

What you will do

• Own the company forecast, planning cadence, leading indicators, and sales-input process.
• Build the analytical case for capital allocation, hiring, digital investments, event categories, and multi-year plans.
• Evaluate business performance, challenge assumptions, and recommend which initiatives to scale or stop.
• Lead planning for business units outside the core events budget, including digital and new initiatives.
• Improve data quality, reconcile Finance reporting with Accounting, automate recurring reporting, and evaluate FP&A tooling.
• Manage and develop the FP&A Manager while setting the team’s analytical and writing standards.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance with increasing scope and ownership.
• Experience owning a company-level or major-segment forecast, preferably across multiple business lines or entities.
• Experience forecasting lumpy, project-based revenue in events, media, marketplaces, or similar businesses.
• Exceptional concise written communication for boards, private equity sponsors, or corporate parents.
• Expert financial modeling and advanced Excel skills, with fluency in NetSuite or a comparable ERP, Salesforce, and BI tools.
• Experience managing or formally developing finance talent and replacing manual reporting with scalable, documented processes.

Nice to have

• Experience presenting directly to a board, private equity sponsor, or corporate parent.
• FP&A platform selection or implementation experience with tools such as Cube, Adaptive, Pigment, or Anaplan.
• Experience applying AI in finance and assessing when automation or tooling is appropriate.
