Senior Director FP&A (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco office; in-office work three days a week.

Salary: Base range of $250,000–$275,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the FP&A team and initially manage 3–4 employees, with responsibility for growing the function.
• Own the annual operating budget, quarterly plans, weekly and daily forecasts, long-range financial model, and scenario planning.
• Prepare executive- and board-level reporting, including monthly financial packages, board decks, KPI dashboards, and forward-looking commentary.
• Build financial models covering unit economics, customer acquisition and retention, cohort dynamics, and multi-product revenue drivers.
• Partner with leaders across marketing, product, engineering, risk, operations, data, accounting, and corporate controllership to translate financial analysis into recommendations and align metrics.
• Champion AI adoption in FP&A, own planning systems and financial infrastructure, and support fundraising, investor relations, and M&A processes.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or a related financial discipline, including significant operating experience at a high-growth company.
• An AI-first mindset with a track record of driving cross-functional adoption of AI tools in financial analysis and planning workflows.
• Experience with modern planning systems such as Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, or comparable tools, with the ability to own the planning infrastructure roadmap and optimization.
• Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, compelling narratives for executive and board audiences.
• Expert financial modeling skills, including driver-based models covering unit economics, cohort behavior, and multi-product revenue dynamics.
• Ability to operate as a player-coach, contributing to detailed analysis and models while managing and developing a growing team.
• Strong business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a track record of building credibility and trust with senior cross-functional stakeholders.

• Background at a late-stage or public fintech, e-commerce, marketplace, or internet company with high transaction volumes.
• Demonstrated financial leadership at a late-stage private or newly public company.
