Director, Strategic Finance & Operations (Fintech)

Location: United States — Remote. Employees based in San Francisco, New York, and Bangalore hubs are expected to work from the office at least 40% of the time, approximately two days per week; additional in-office requirements may apply depending on the role, team, and business needs.

Base salary: $220,000–$250,000 USD annually, excluding commission, equity, and benefits. Compensation may be adjusted based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Own the annual budget, monthly forecasts, quarterly budget reviews, driver-based operating model, and sales capacity and quota model across ten departments.
• Prepare quarterly board financials, monthly management reporting, P&L flux reviews, financial statement packages, and analysis of revenue, margins, spending, burn, runway, and cash.
• Run business reviews and OKR reviews, track commitments, identify misses, and maintain consistent company-wide metric definitions.
• Perform hands-on analysis of payment volume, monetization, unit economics, retention, growth, efficiency, and cash metrics using Claude and other AI tools.
• Lead the financial workstream for acquisitions, including modeling, valuation, synergies, integration cases, due diligence, and coordination with Corporate Development.
• Lead capital allocation, licensed-entity capital planning, pricing exception approvals, purchase-order budget checks, cross-functional programs, and the Manager of FinOps, RevOps & Finance Systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years combining strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or FP&A experience, including 2–4 years operating in-house at a fintech, payments, or high-growth company.
• End-to-end ownership of a budget process with department leaders and board-level reporting.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including M&A or investment models.
• Experience building and running an operating cadence or OKR process across functions.
• Hands-on experience using Claude or similar AI tools to pull, model, and analyze data and build reporting directly without relying on an analytics team.
• Ability to challenge senior leaders with data and maintain effective working relationships.
