Project Engineer-Travelling (Construction)

Location: Western US, including Boise, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, and Nevada; frequent project-site travel required, up to 90% of the time.

Salary: $35–$40 USD.

What you will do

• Support daily construction project execution by monitoring scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, and potential project impacts.
• Maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, specifications, permits, correspondence, and contract records.
• Update schedules, track costs, review invoices, support forecasting, and maintain project budgets and performance metrics.
• Coordinate procurement, material and equipment deliveries, subcontractor onboarding, contract administration, and compliance monitoring.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to resolve project challenges.
• Support field operations, safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and project closeout activities at active construction and industrial sites.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
• Experience in construction, project engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of construction means and methods, project documentation, contracts, scheduling, and procurement processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, and submittals.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across project teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, project success, applicable codes, contractual requirements, PPE, and Environmental Health and Safety policies.

Nice to have

• Field experience supporting civil, mechanical, industrial, commercial, or construction projects.
• Experience with commercial, industrial, federal, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
• Exposure to project scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and contract administration.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or pursuit of professional licensure.
