Project Manager (IT)

Salary: $97–$107 per hour

What you will do

• Develop and manage phase-based project schedules, assign ownership for deliverables, and align execution with program objectives.
• Lead phase-gate governance by defining entry and exit criteria, coordinating reviews, validating deliverables, and maintaining decision logs.
• Coordinate multiple delivery pods across four technology platforms, including dependencies, release schedules, integrations, and shared environments.
• Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions, scrum-of-scrums meetings, and stakeholder reviews to identify and resolve blockers.
• Manage RAID logs and formal change control while monitoring project health, resource capacity, schedule variance, and milestones.
• Prepare executive status reports, steering committee presentations, and program communications, and partner with business, technical, and consulting stakeholders on architecture, design, and modernization objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• 8+ years of program or project management experience, including 5+ years leading multi-team technology initiatives in cloud environments such as AWS.
• Experience establishing and managing phase-gate or stage-gate governance for large-scale programs and coordinating delivery teams with interconnected dependencies and integrated release schedules.
• Expertise in schedule management, critical path analysis, resource planning, program forecasting, RAID logs, and formal change management.
• Knowledge of Agile, hybrid, and phased project delivery methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, or similar project management platforms.
• Experience creating executive dashboards, status reports, and steering committee materials.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes without direct authority.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Scrum Master, Agile, SAFe, or related certification.
• Experience with HR modernization or Human Capital Management initiatives.
• Experience replacing legacy systems through phased or parallel-run implementations.
• Familiarity with state procurement, governance, regulatory, and compliance processes.
