Project Manager (Gov't Tech)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base compensation: $125,000–$135,000 annually, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate CMS's Digital Quality Initiative within the Security, Innovation, and Operations program.
• Translate strategy into project plans, roadmaps, milestones, deliverables, and integrated schedules.
• Coordinate FHIR-based interoperability, healthcare data exchange, systems integration, and technical dependencies.
• Support change management, stakeholder engagement, readiness planning, communications, training, and adoption.
• Align work with Agile and Lean Portfolio practices, including epics, features, backlogs, and prioritization.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, governance, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, information technology, engineering, health informatics, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience managing complex projects or programs, preferably in healthcare, federal government, or another regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability and FHIR standards; FHIR certification is preferred, and certification must be obtained within six months if not already held.
• Experience coordinating multiple teams, systems, stakeholders, and interdependent workstreams, including technical architects, engineers, developers, and data specialists.
• Experience with change management, risk and dependency management, executive reporting, roadmaps, dashboards, and decision-support materials.
• Strong facilitation, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile and Lean Portfolio practices; SAFe certification is strongly preferred.
• PMP or comparable project or program management certification.
• Experience with healthcare modernization, interoperability, or large-scale organizational and technology transformation.
• CMS, CCSQ, or comparable federal health system experience.
