Human Resources Generalist

Location: Onsite at the Carol Stream, IL Distribution Center

Salary: $5,258.34–$8,408.34 per month for salaried roles; bonus or incentive plan eligible.

What you will do

• Lead HR strategy for staffing the new Distribution Center leadership team and support workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and organizational readiness.
• Identify operational gaps and implement HR solutions that improve performance, engagement, retention, communication, and accountability.
• Build and deliver reporting on attrition, hiring, performance, and surveys to guide leadership decisions.
• Design and facilitate hands-on manager training covering interviewing, performance management, employee relations, and day-to-day leadership.
• Coach managers and partner with associates and leaders on employee relations, performance conversations, leadership development, career progression, and succession planning.
• Lead HR compliance activities, including audits, background checks, drug screens, documentation, employment-law updates, HRIS coordination, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 2 years supporting site operations as an HR Manager or Business Partner.
• 5+ years of HR experience supporting a unionized workforce, preferably in a distribution center, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar operational environment.
• Experience supporting a recently established distribution center or site start-up, including workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and organizational readiness.
• Ability to establish and influence a positive, high-performing culture from day one while partnering with site leadership on engagement, communication, retention, and accountability.
• Solid background in industrial or distribution environments with large hourly populations.
• Ability to build trust, influence leaders, and hold teams accountable to expectations and standards.
• Experience supporting proactive employee relations strategies and minimizing risk.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to identify trends and drive action.
• Experience with HR systems and Microsoft tools.

Nice to have

• Workday experience.
• HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills or the ability to use resources to support communication across language barriers.
