ECAD Librarian Specialist

Location: Remote; U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: USD $94,056.00–$101,771.00 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with engineers and PCB designers to create and use ECAD library representations of components, modules, and complete products.
• Advise hardware designers on schematic symbols, land patterns, component outlines, and PCB documentation while following corporate symbol and cell guidelines.
• Create component footprints, schematic symbols, padstacks, logical-to-physical pin mappings, and new part entries; maintain existing ECAD library components.
• Collaborate with electrical, component, manufacturing, and other engineering disciplines to develop ECAD library parts for the Siemens/Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise Tool Suite.
• Research manufacturer datasheets and drawings and apply IPC, military, and industry standards when creating library symbols and footprints.
• Apply design for manufacturability and design for test practices to develop quality designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Knowledge of ECAD library parts, including logic symbols, cells or footprints, padstacks, and logical-to-physical pin mapping.
• Familiarity with ECAD design tools, strong Siemens/Mentor Graphics experience, and some Cadence experience.
• Ability to follow corporate processes for creating library symbols and footprints and to interpret manufacturer datasheets and drawings.
• Familiarity with analog, digital, RF, and electro-mechanical components.
• Ability to work independently, produce quality work, take constructive criticism, and make improvements.
• Strong attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to take direction from peers and coworkers.
• Ability to navigate Windows and associated applications, including Microsoft Office products; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume ECAD library environment.
