Civil Technical Specialist III (Civil 3D)

Location: Alexandria, VA, United States (Hybrid); remote work is available part-time, with approximately 2–3 days per week expected in the Alexandria office.

Salary: $93,719–$147,641 per year.

What you will do

• Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of public infrastructure and site improvement projects, including pedestrian trails, parks, facilities, stormwater management, erosion stabilization, utilities, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
• Evaluate site conditions through field investigations, desktop analysis, infrastructure inspections, and occasional project site visits.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, calculations, design reports, maps, technical specifications, permitting documentation, and supporting exhibits.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, project cost estimates, and technical data for project planning and delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, Senior Engineers, and Project Managers; participate in meetings and document action items.
• Review shop drawings, support project schedules and budgets, assist with client meetings, and provide basic technical guidance and informal mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Additional relevant professional credentials.
