Staff Engineer (SaaS)

Base pay: $153,800–$211,400

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and scale secure, performant, and resilient SaaS platform solutions for Studio customers.
• Lead the design, implementation, and operation of platform solutions through a team of engineers.
• Perform architecture, coding, research, and technical decision-making across known and unknown technologies, projects, features, and platforms.
• Mentor less senior developers and provide technical guidance on complex systems and projects.
• Partner with Architecture, InfoSec, DevOps, Product Management, and other stakeholders to refine loosely defined requirements into robust applications.
• Ramp up quickly on complex problems and codebases and serve as the technical expert for complex areas of the systems.

Requirements

• 15+ years of industry experience developing highly available backend services.
• 10+ years building cloud applications through AWS.
• 5+ years leading developer teams on progressively larger projects. Experience managing direct reports is preferred.
• Experience serving as the technical lead on multi-year projects, including breaking work into milestones and driving delivery to completion.
• Recent development experience with C# using .NET Framework and/or .NET Core, plus recent demonstrable experience with Golang.
• Solid knowledge of microservice architecture, containerization, and container orchestration.
• Strong experience architecting and building cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Solid understanding of relational SQL databases, preferably Postgres or equivalent, MS Entity Framework, and NoSQL databases such as AWS DynamoDB or MongoDB.
• Experience in a fully automated CI/CD environment, including Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or similar tools.
• Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into value-add technology solutions.
• Willingness to learn and expand skills; positive, team-oriented, results-driven, and organized approach; mentoring experience; and strong written and verbal communication skills.
