Principal Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and evolve distributed, high-scale systems for production environments.
• Lead architectural decision-making and technical initiatives across multiple business units.
• Drive reliability engineering, system optimization, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Lead multi-team engineering efforts and mentor senior engineers.
• Help shape engineering culture and enterprise-scale technical direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 12 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or a similar backend language.
• Expertise in distributed architectures, reliability engineering, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and making architectural decisions at enterprise scale.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.

Nice to have

• Public technical contributions, including papers, talks, or open-source leadership.
• Experience driving multi-year transformation programs.
• Familiarity with FinOps and large-scale cost optimization.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
• Advanced degree or equivalent industry recognition.
