Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Transcript (React/TypeScript)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 annually, plus a possible annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain user-facing web applications with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Build reusable, accessible, responsive, and performant UI components and contribute to shared component libraries and frontend architecture.
• Integrate frontend applications with GraphQL and REST APIs, including schemas, generated types, queries, mutations, subscriptions, and client-side data management.
• Lead complex frontend initiatives, influence technical decisions, participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, mobile, platform, and data teams to deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and engaging learning experiences.
• Write automated tests, troubleshoot production issues, follow compliance and change-management practices, mentor engineers, and use automation and AI-assisted tools where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including designing, building, and supporting production frontend applications.
• Advanced proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Next.js.
• Strong experience with component-based UIs and design systems, and frontend integration with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Apollo Client, GraphQL code generation, and schema-driven development.
• Experience building AI-driven user experiences or using AI-assisted development workflows.
• Proven ability to lead complex frontend initiatives, influence application architecture, mentor engineers, and contribute to frontend standards and best practices.
• Experience with automated testing, Git workflows, continuous integration, and Playwright for frontend and unit testing.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility, responsive design, performance optimization, security, and observability; experience with cloud or AWS services such as CloudFront, S3, ECR, EKS, and serverless compute.
• Experience building accessible applications in accordance with WCAG standards.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in EdTech or digital learning platforms.
• AWS Certification.
• Experience in a SOX- and/or SOC 2-compliant environment.
• Experience working in a TypeScript monorepo.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms or media-rich applications.
• Familiarity with LaunchDarkly, Okta, analytics, or observability platforms.
