Senior Frontend Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: San Francisco office, three days per week

Salary: $147K–$280K annual base pay, with potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Build maintainable, scalable web interfaces for expense management, including real-time tracking, receipt capture, approvals, and integrations.
• Develop frontend applications with React and TypeScript within a domain-based Micro Frontend architecture.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend services through Apollo GraphQL and a Backend-for-Frontend layer.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to clarify requirements and deliver production features.
• Contribute to shared UI components, the design system, testing, documentation, code reviews, bug triage, and frontend performance improvements.
• Participate in technical spikes, experimentation, and Frontend Guild discussions while helping raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional frontend software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML/CSS, and modern web development practices.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and improving frontend performance.
• Track record of writing well-tested, maintainable code and contributing to technical documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, design systems, or Micro Frontend architecture.
• Exposure to CI/CD, monitoring, and frontend observability tools.
• Interest in product development and a user-centric mindset.
