Senior Converting Training and Operations Specialist (Corrugated Packaging)

Location: Lake Forest, IL, US; travel 75% to PCA locations throughout the US. Relocation is not required.

Starting salary: $108,500–$160,000 per year, plus an annual bonus based on individual contribution and company performance.

What you will do

• Provide hands-on training and operational support for converting teams across PCA plants.
• Support flexographic and RDC projects, startups, capital planning, and equipment decisions.
• Develop best practices, preventive maintenance practices, and standards for converting operations.
• Troubleshoot printing, mechanical, electrical, quality control, and OEM machine control systems.
• Analyze downtime, cause and frequency data, preventive maintenance processes, and root causes to improve reliability and throughput.
• Coach teams and provide operational feedback to Production Managers and Area Operations Managers.

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of converting operations and OEM converting systems and controls, including EVOL, Bobst, BW, and Sun.
• Previous supervisory and leadership experience in converting operations.
• Experience with coaching, training, team building, and performance management.
• Knowledge of printing, print troubleshooting, feeding, scoring, folding, squaring systems, and the mechanical systems of converting machines.
• Knowledge of quality control systems, OEM machine control systems, corrugated and packaging equipment maintenance, and manufacturing systems software.
• Experience with preventive maintenance practices, downtime analysis, DT analysis, and RCFA analysis.
• High School Diploma required.
• Solid analytical, mechanical, organizational, electrical maintenance, and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate from operator to executive level and manage diverse teams working on complex objectives.
