Manager, Operations - Night Shift

Location: Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes, England, United Kingdom; onsite night-shift role with flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

Salary: GBP 60,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Manage assigned shift operations across production, quality, cost, and delivery, ensuring KPI and business objectives are met.
• Lead manufacturing supervisors, team leaders, and associates while coordinating staffing, shift handovers, holiday cover, and cross-functional training.
• Drive yield improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, process efficiency, productivity improvements, and reduction of non-value-added activities.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer complaints, handle rush orders, meet customer SLAs, and support client needs.
• Monitor quality, cost, delivery, people, customer feedback, and site profit-and-loss performance through statistical reporting.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental, HR, disciplinary, grievance, absence, appraisal, incident-reporting, and investigation processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing or Production Shift Manager or in a similar position.
• At least 5 years of experience working with a Warehouse, Production, or Distribution Management System.
• At least 5 years of warehouse experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• GCSE Maths, English, and science.
• Experience in an FMCG environment or exposure to fast-paced manufacturing operations.
• Good knowledge of continuous improvement and lean principles, plus good awareness of supply chain operations.
• Good interpersonal, leadership, motivation, delegation, organisation, problem-solving, communication, and team briefing skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills and computer literacy; ability to conduct shift handovers and write concise reports.
• Experience coordinating and supervising work activities involving shift personnel; ability to work flexibly across a wide range of work areas.
• Ability to walk and stand as needed; grip and grasp; lift or carry up to 60 lbs; push or pull up to 70 lbs; and frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb, crawl, reach above the shoulder, and type.
• Ability to travel as needed, be trained on and operate power industrial equipment, and work in a wide range of temperatures.

Nice to have

• Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree.
• Six Sigma or Lean certification.
• IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification.
