Sr. Accountant

Location: Hybrid in Selangor, Malaysia; requires three days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Record vendor invoices and payments, prepaid activity, monthly payroll activity, accruals, and fixed asset transactions for multiple legal entities.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and reporting schedules for quarterly and annual filings for foreign subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax, Treasury, and the parent company to support daily operations and accurate accounting entries.
• Coordinate with third-party accounting firms on tax, audit, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain internal control documentation in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
• Participate in ERP implementation and enhancements, special projects, and ad hoc analyses.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or an audit firm.
• Experience working with foreign subsidiaries and currency translation.
• Strong analytical, technical accounting, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work independently and in a group environment.
• Ability to meet strict, time-sensitive deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to produce complex, detailed accounting reconciliations that are easy for auditors to interpret.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of debits and credits and the impact of journal entries on the balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statement.

Nice to have

• Experience with US GAAP reporting and public company standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC requirements.
• Experience with local accounting requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, D365, and/or BlackLine.
