TL;DR

Global Liabilities & Prepayment Associate Accountant (Mandarin Speaker) (US GAAP/Blackline): Managing liabilities and prepaid accounting within a shared service center with an accent on account reconciliations, journal preparation, reporting, and financial controls. Focus on supporting month-end and annual close processes, solving complex accounting matters, and driving continuous process improvements.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; international travel may be required, with additional hours during critical periods and exceptional work on public holidays.

What you will do

Prepare manual journals with adequate supporting documentation and complete assigned account reconciliations in BlackLine.
Respond to queries from local country finance teams and provide audit support.
Support monthly Balance Sheet and P&L flux analysis and regional and global reporting requirements.
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and local rules while strengthening financial processes and controls.
Support local, regional, and global projects and identify continuous process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

2–3 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
Good knowledge of US GAAP.
Strong analytical, communication, diplomatic, flexible, and problem-solving skills with a can-do mindset.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Strong reporting-tool skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
Fluent Mandarin-speaking capability as indicated by the position title.
Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.

Nice to have

Experience with JDE, BlackLine, Alteryx, and W-Desk.
