TL;DR
Senior Cost Accountant (Financial Reporting and Inventory Accounting): Managing monthly subledger and general ledger close, reconciliations, journal entries, inventory valuation, tax compliance, and fixed asset accounting with an accent on reporting accuracy and operational analysis. Focus on resolving transactional issues, coordinating physical counts, supporting forecasts and cash flow projections, and maintaining compliance documentation.

What you will do

  • Review, analyze, and close subledgers and general ledgers monthly within closing timelines.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations between subledgers and the General Ledger in line with the Corporation Account Reconciliation Policy.
  • Record manual journal entries in Oracle, including accruals and adjusting entries.
  • Manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, including valuation, reconciliation, documentation, and periodic physical counts.
  • Prepare local reporting schedules for statutory audits, tax compliance tracking and returns, and statistical returns.
  • Support the Controller with forecasts, cash flow projections, expense analysis, periodic reporting, analytical work, and ad hoc projects; resolve transactional issues with Operations and Corporate Accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a relevant field, or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, MICPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting or audit experience.
  • Experience or ability to maintain documentation, schedules, and filing for GST, Corporate Income Tax, withholding tax, and tax incentive requirements.
  • Ability to review supplier invoices and tax codes and liaise with Shared Services on accounts payable and payments.
