Accountant (Statutory Compliance) (SAP S4)

Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Support SAP S4 user acceptance testing and design and implement solutions for local statutory processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on SAP configuration and unit testing.
• Manage end-to-end statutory audits, including auditor engagement, PBC schedules, supporting documentation, and audited financial statements.
• Manage monthly and quarterly governmental filings, month-end and quarter-end close activities, journal entries, forecasts, reconciliations, and financial reviews.
• Advise stakeholders and directors on complex accounting, compliance, ESG, AMLA, and new accounting standards matters.
• Support legal entity restructuring, eliminations, new entity setup, compliance projects, system simplification, and global and local initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Professional Degree in Accountancy.
• Professional Accounting Qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a global organization.
• Strong project management, communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and with large teams.
• Ability to work across organizations and geographies with tolerance for high ambiguity.
• Results-driven approach, business partnership capability, and ability to meet quality, customer service, and service-level indicators.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and ensure effective execution.

Nice to have

• External auditor experience or knowledge of SAP S4.
• Strong financial systems capability, including SAP, SAP S4 HANA, local GAAP, and reporting systems.
• Experience in a shared service environment handling compliance across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
