Infrastructure Systems Engineer (Elastic Stack)

What you will do

• Design, build, secure, maintain, optimize, and document Elastic Stack Enterprise solutions, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Machine Learning, and SIEM.
• Support Elastic infrastructure within a multidisciplinary team in a Federal DoD environment.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure, data pipelines, reporting automation, and continuous data normalization functions.
• Use Ansible playbooks and multiple programming and scripting languages to automate operations.
• Support technical deliverables such as SOPs and process workflows and contribute to new capabilities.
• Support internal engineering personnel and external customer requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility after hire.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II certification prior to start date.
• Experience deploying, securing, and managing Red Hat Linux and Oracle Linux servers.
• Experience with STIG compliance remediation and management and Nessus scan remediation.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in server deployment, configuration, and solution development.
• Experience with the full Elastic Stack: Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Machine Learning, and REST API integration.
• Experience developing automation in multiple languages, including Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Painless.
• Ability to use Ansible Playbooks.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating Elasticsearch with SOAR tools and threat intelligence platforms.
• Experience with hot, warm, and cold data architectures, shard allocation and reallocation, snapshots, and restoration.
• Strong Linux performance tuning and security experience.
• Experience integrating Elasticsearch with SAML, LDAP, and PKI authentication mechanisms.
• Experience securing the Elastic Stack and hardening hosting environments.
• Experience designing and implementing highly scalable Elastic Stack solutions.
• Experience developing data structures and mapping data from multiple sources for normalization using Elastic Common Schema.
• Experience developing Logstash and Ingest Pipelines, custom Kibana visualizations and dashboards, and reporting solutions using Elasticsearch APIs and ElastiCache.
• Experience with end-to-end low-level design, development, administration, and delivery of Elasticsearch-based reporting solutions.
• Strong technical foundation in building reliable, scalable, and supportable systems.
• Experience deploying and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
