DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) - 30702

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 2–3 days per week at the Columbia, Maryland office; after clearance, customer-site visits in Fort Meade, Maryland may be required. Onsite frequency and locations may vary based on customer, company, and contract requirements. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: $75,850–$100,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support the development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS.
• Automate deployment processes and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable and scalable services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into operational infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability.
• Improve infrastructure tools and processes while evaluating relevant technologies and trends.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Either a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0 years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with one or more of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms; AWS services such as EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, or Lambda; configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible; or application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go and work comfortably in a terminal-based environment.
• Strong problem-solving, complex troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• Must have or obtain DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, within 30 days of hire.
• Must work in a hybrid environment, averaging 2–3 days per week at the Columbia, Maryland office, with flexibility for schedule and location changes.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or higher U.S. Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, Helm, and other development and deployment tools.
• Experience or familiarity with big data technologies including Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
