DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) - 30778

Location: Hybrid in San Antonio, TX, United States, with an average of 1–2 days per week in the office; onsite frequency and locations may vary based on customer/company support requirements and contract needs. U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $100,173–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, as well as on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Integrate development teams’ applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve operational issues.
• Improve infrastructure tools and processes to increase service availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Track new technologies and identify opportunities to improve infrastructure.

Requirements

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
• 5+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda, and their use in infrastructure deployment and management.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and with application, container, and operating-system deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
• Comfort working in a terminal-based environment and proficient Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong problem-solving, complex-issue troubleshooting, oral, and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or willingness to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, averaging 1–2 days per week at the San Antonio, TX office, with flexibility to adapt to schedule changes.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, and AWS services such as SNS, SQS, and Diode.
