Systems Engineer-IT (DevOps)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States; onsite support for DC-MLS Enterprise deployments

What you will do

• Support the initial deployment, integration, and site coordination of DC-MLS Enterprise implementations.
• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Unix and Linux systems across HPC programs, customer contracts, and core environments.
• Develop deployment automation and scripting with Python, Perl, Korn shell, Bourne/Bash, and Ansible.
• Support software builds, configuration management, testing, deployment, and operational activities.
• Maintain configuration baselines and revision-control workflows using CVS, SVN, Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI.
• Coordinate with systems engineering, software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, HPC, mission, and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of combined experience in Linux administration, scripting, software development, configuration management, DevOps, or systems engineering.
• Strong Unix and Linux knowledge with experience building repeatable deployment and automation processes.
• Experience troubleshooting software, operating systems, configuration, and deployment issues.
• US Citizenship is required.
• An active TS/SCI with an adjudicated CI Polygraph is required prior to start.
• Security+ certification is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DC-MLS, multi-level secure systems, cross-domain solutions, or controlled environments.
• Experience with enterprise deployments, site activation, fielded systems, HPC programs, or classified national security customers.
• Experience with GitLab CI, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Agile environments, and software deployment frameworks.
