Business Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: East Farmingdale, NY (Long Island), United States; onsite role. Relocation is offered.

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 annually, plus short-term and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead the finance function for a $200M, 200,000-square-foot heavy manufacturing facility with approximately 320 employees.
• Provide strategic financial guidance and partner with the General Manager and senior leadership on performance, growth, profitability, and operational decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, cash flow management, financial analysis, modeling, and performance reporting.
• Drive compliance with GAAP, SOX, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, corporate policies, revenue recognition, risk management, and financial controls.
• Support contract and proposal evaluations, financial risk assessments, business cases, reporting, audits, and ERP financial systems leadership.
• Build, coach, and develop the finance team while leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles, including 5–7 years managing finance teams.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally supporting both commercial and government business.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience with long-term contract accounting, including EAC, POC, and ETC methodologies.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, GAAP, SOX, CAS, and FAR requirements.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle or a similar platform.
• Advanced financial analysis and financial modeling capabilities.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
• Strategic thinking, cross-functional influence, decisiveness, a solutions-oriented approach, and comfort in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or another professional designation.
