Cost Controller, Spacecraft

Location: Hybrid role based in Tukwila, Washington, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. U.S. work authorization is required for ITAR-regulated space technology.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 per year for candidates in Seattle, Washington.

What you will do

• Track materials, labor, overhead, production costs, inventory, and job costing for a small-satellite manufacturing facility.
• Conduct variance, margin, cost structure, inventory usage, and profitability analysis.
• Manage capital expenditure projects, budgets, expected ROI, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Prepare financial reports, support monthly close and financial planning, and provide scenario analysis for strategic decisions.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and site management on standard costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing activities.
• Improve financial systems and processes using PLEX ERP, digital reporting, analysis, and planning solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• More than five years of progressive cost controlling and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or person eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification.
• Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and PLEX.
