Software Engineer - Network Automation (Go/Python)

What you will do

• Design and build orchestration that coordinates network changes across devices and systems, including pre-change validation, staged rollout, post-change verification, and automatic rollback.
• Develop production services and tooling in Go and Python with tests, CI, and observability.
• Build virtual labs and configuration/state checks to detect faulty changes before they reach network devices.
• Extend source-of-truth and configuration-generation tooling using NetBox, Peering Manager, and Ansible/Jinja2.
• Detect drift between intended and running network configuration and expose network state to the team.
• Participate in code and infrastructure reviews, improve engineering practices, and join the on-call rotation after training.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of professional experience designing, writing, and maintaining production software in Go, with fluency in Python.
• Experience building CI/CD or deployment systems where failed rollouts have significant consequences.
• Regularly test delivered software and automate repetitive work.
• Working understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP, routing, VLANs, and the purpose of BGP.
• Strong written and spoken English and comfort working in a distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience automating network devices such as Arista EOS, Junos, or SONiC through NETCONF, gNMI, eAPI, or similar protocols.
• Experience using Ansible, NetBox, or comparable configuration-management and source-of-truth tools at scale.
• Experience with network testing or validation tools such as containerlab, Batfish, or pyATS.
• Experience with Linux networking and Kubernetes.
